What’s New in September (Part 2): Dairy Ice Cream Innovations

As mentioned in our last What’s New Dairy, we found so many recent dairy debuts that we created a second edition this month!

 

Like our first edition, this one’s full of innovative releases. But the one that truly caught our eye was a black vanilla ice cream from Nick’s, born out of an April Fool’s Joke! As a result, the spooky new limited-edition release earns our selection as our Pick of the Month.

Caramel Pecan Crunch Ice Cream From The Brooklyn Creamery! Dubai


Find ribbons of sugar-free caramel sauce and crunchy buttered pecans within this protein-rich, low-carb caramel ice cream! The Brooklyn Creamery’s latest debut has only 1g net carbs per serving, is keto-friendly and lacks any added sugar and artificial coloring.

Nick’s New Limited-Edition Charcoal Vanilla Ice Cream! Sweden


Charcoal powder transforms a rich, creamy vanilla ice cream into a “bold, black twist” in Nick’s latest limited-edition release!


Created in partnership with Warner Bros to launch Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the 473mL Charcoal Vanilla flavor is available exclusively at Netto in Denmark, Coop and Selver in Estonia, and Lidl in Poland.



Cheesecakes and Brown Sugar Cinnamon Bun Mochi Ice Cream From Little Moons! England


A trio of bite-sized frozen cheesecake desserts joins Little Moons’ line-up:

  • Caramelized Biscuit & White Chocolate: Cheesecake with white chocolate curls and a caramelized biscuit center, encased in sweet mochi dough and coated in gluten-free crumbs

  • Strawberry & Mascarpone: Vanilla and mascarpone cheesecake bites with a strawberry jam center, covered in strawberry-pink dough and coated in gluten-free crumbs

  • Belgian Chocolate & Salted Caramel: Chocolate cheesecake with a salted caramel center, wrapped in chocolate mochi dough and coated in gluten-free crumbs


Depending on the flavor, each mochi has a maximum of 98 calories. A 4x30g package retails for £3.75 ($5.00USD) and can be found in Co-op freezers.


Little Moons has also released a new flavor, Brown Sugar Cinnamon Bun. The debut promises to be “smooth, sweet, and here to spice up your snacking life,” according to the brand.


The limited-edition release offers a cozy blend of warm cinnamon spice and caramel undertones of brown sugar gelato wrapped in soft rice dough. Each 6x32g mochi contains 70 calories and is gluten-free.

Cold Stone Creamery’s Launches Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream and Mocha Cookie Latte Ice Cream! United States


Two new flavors have hit Cold Stone Creamery’s freezers that offer the comforting sensations of fall!


Mocha Cookie Latte blends coffee ice cream, cookie dough, fudge, and sugar crystals, whereas Cinna Roll Bliss has Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream, cream cheese frosting, yellow cake, and caramel.


You can treat yourself to the new flavors until November 19, 2024. Options for the latest flavors range from $8.99USD for a ‘Like It’ size to $24.99USD for an ‘Everybody’s’ size (triple pint).



Häagen-Dazs’ New Pumpkin Spice Dazzler and Returning Pumpkin Spice Shake! United States


Until November 14, Häagen-Dazs’ fans can sample the chain’s limited-time fall offerings:

  • Pumpkin Spice Dazzler: This all-new creation has layers of Häagen-Dazs Dulce de Leche ice cream, velvety caramel sauce, crunchy cinnamon cookie crumbles, and a sprinkle of cozy pumpkin pie spices

  • Pumpkin Spice Shake: This fall favorite returns to the menu and is crafted with Dulce de Leche ice cream and smooth pumpkin purée, then finished with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin spices

‘Apple Series’ From Salt & Straw! United States


Salt & Straw’s fall flavors are now here! The company’s ‘Apple Series’ has three new flavors:

  • Finnriver’s Black Currant Apple Cider (New!): Finnriver cidery’s pink sparkling cider turned into pâte de fruits, then complemented with a delicate apple-and-black-currant infused sherbet

  • Apple Pie Vs. Pumpkin Pie (New!): Pumpkin pie and apple pie à la mode weaved through brown sugar pumpkin spiced ice cream

  • Apple Cider Donuts (New!): Swirls of cinnamon-spiced vanilla caramel in rich, royal icing-inspired ice cream studded with chunks of sugar-and-spice streusel-topped doughnuts

As part of the line-up, Salt & Straw’s Green Apple Wasabi Sorbet (vegan) and Caramel Apple Sherbet are making a seasonal comeback.


All five flavors are available for $75.00USD online, with nationwide shipping available.



Limited-Edition Peanut Butter and Jelly Flavor From Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream! United States


Was the perfect back-to-school frozen treat recently created by Handel’s?! The brand’s limited-edition Peanut Butter and Jelly flavor offered a sweet, creamy, and nutty experience with its combination of peanut butter ice cream, strawberry ripple, and shortcake.


It was available until the end of September and could be enjoyed in a cone, dish, or takeout in a pint. Prices ranged from $4.25USD (small cone/dish) to $6.75 for a pint.



Fall Season Flavors From Publix and Winn-Dixie! United States


Publix and Winn-Dixie will keep us busy with their extensive fall line-up this season!


Publix’s eight holiday season flavors are as follows:


  • Eggnog: Creamy eggnog-flavored ice cream with a hint of nutmeg

  • Caramel Mountain Tracks: Toffee ice cream ribboned with Mackinac caramel and filled with praline pecans and caramel-filled chocolate turtles

  • Marshmallow Candy Cane & Cookie Blast: Marshmallow ice cream blended with crunchy candy cane pieces and swirled with rich chocolate cookie

  • Snickerdoodle: Brown butter ice cream featuring swirls of cinnamon graham crackers and chunks of graham cookies

  • Deep Dish Apple Pie: Apple ice cream combined with brown sugar-cinnamon sauce, real apple bits, and sugar-coated pie crust pieces

  • Peppermint Stick: Vanilla ice cream studded with bits of peppermint candy

  • Santa’s White Christmas: A festive blend of Barnie’s Santa’s White Christmas coffee and cocoa espresso flakes

  • Pumpkin Pie: Pumpkin pie-flavored ice cream swirled with whipped cream and chunks of buttery pie crust

Winn-Dixie has additional fall flavors for you to try! The company’s seasonal line-up includes:

6 New and Returning Holiday Flavors From My/Mochi Ice Cream! United States


My/Mochi’s fall and winter release includes three new debuts and three returning flavors, with each filling wrapped in soft, pillowy dough:


  • Pumpkin Spice: A fall favorite featuring creamy cinnamon pumpkin spice ice cream mixed with crunchy graham cracker pieces

  • Apple Pie á La Mode: A twist on the classic dessert, blending vanilla ice cream with a cinnamon-spiced apple filling at its center
