What’s New in November: Vegan Ice Cream Innovations

With the holidays just around the corner, many brands have been working hard to bring new (or return old) flavors to the market. One such brand, NOOMOO, has a new release called Cinnamon Caramel – our November Vegan Pick of the Month. With its unique blend of almonds, caramel, and cinnamon, you’ll be ready to celebrate the season's festivities!

In this article, you’ll read about:

NEW TRENDS

NOMOO’s newest releases, Cinnamon Caramel and Nut Nougat, are now available for a limited time. Both are full-bodied flavors: Cinnamon Caramel features gently roasted almonds, a creamy caramel sauce, and a delicate cinnamon note, whereas Nut Nougat has a creamy nougat base with crunchy hazelnut slivers and fine dark chocolate.

Sweet Izzy Opens Second Location, USA

Owners Mike and Elizabeth Doucette are bringing their vegan, soy- and gluten-free ice cream to Cherry Creek, Denver, when their shop Sweet Izzy (named after the couple’s daughter) opens in January 2023.

The brand’s second location is opening three years after the launch of its first location (in Harwich Port, MA, in 2020).

The shop’s non-dairy-based ice cream is made with a unique coconut and oat milk base and comes in flavors like mint chocolate chip, cookie dough, and cookies n’ cream.

Since it’s available in hard-packed and soft-serve variations, the ice cream can also be made into dessert drinks like cold brew and coffee ice cream.

Righteous Gelato’s Winter Flavors Have Returned, Canada

Just in time for the holiday season, Righteous has brought back their winter favorites, dairy-

free Chocolate Peppermint and Sticky Toffee Pudding! The small-batch gelatos include no artificial colors or flavors, incorporate cane sugar (in addition to the sugars found in fruit), and use a plant-based alternative to glycerides.

Dairy Free Chocolate Peppermint Plant-Based Gelato is a classic pairing of chocolate and peppermint and is certified gluten-free. In contrast, Sticky Toffee Pudding offers rich toffee swirls and a gluten-free sticky date cake on a sweet, cozy brown sugar base.

Both flavors are available in 562mL pints for $9 CDN ($6.70 USD) at over 2,500 stores across Canada (including Safeway, Sobeys, Whole Foods, Metro, and Co-op stores), in select stores in the USA (including Whole Foods, Metropolitan Market, and Green Zebra), and online via the Righteous website.
