NEW TRENDS

First Ever Plant-Based, Gluten-Free and Dairy Free Cookie Sandwich, USA

GoodPop has released a first-of-its-kind Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free Frozen Dessert Cookie Sandwich as part of their ‘Cleaned Up Classics’ family. The Chocolate Vanilla Sandwich

combines a creamy vanilla oatmilk filling sandwiched between two chocolate cookies.

At only 110 calories and 8 grams of sugar per sandwich, they are also kosher, made with fairtrade, non-GMO ingredients and contain no HFCs, refined sugars or sugar alcohol sweeteners. They will be available in 4-packs across US natural and traditional retail channels in over 40 states at an RRP of $4.99 - $5.99 USD.

PRODUCT LINE EXTENSIONS / RENOVATIONS

Triple Caramel Creation by Dairy-Free Brand SNO, Canada

SNO’s newest product launch is the Triple Caramel Bar (8x90ml). Made with a creamy vegan ice cream base enhanced with caramel and a delicious caramel coulis. The Bar is then coated in a crunchy dark chocolate mix and finished with crunchy caramel pieces.


With a long list of positive attributes including being certified vegan, 100% natural, dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and palm-oil free, SNO’s new Triple Caramel Bar can be found across Canada in Walmart and Avril Supermarché from May 2022, and IGA and Wholefoods right now at a retail price of $7.99 CAD (€5.80 / $6.40 USD).

NotGelato: the Co-Creation Between NotCo and Freddo, Argentina

The Argentinian market will see a new co-branded plant-based frozen dessert between ice cream parlour, Freddo and Chilean FoodTech Company, NotCo. The pair have created ‘NotGelato’, a new line of rich-tasting, plant-based ice cream. The line will have three core flavours:

  • NotGelato Peanut butter: a rich combination of peanut butter and 80% cacao with added peanut brittle bits.

  • NotGelato Chocolate with Passion Fruit: a perfect mix of chocolate with 80% cacao with a touch of passion fruit sauce.

  • NotGelato Mixed Berry Mousse: a mousse base made with raspberries and strawberries accompanied by a raspberry syrup.

Alden’s Adds Dairy-Free Chocolate-Covered Ice Cream Bars to Portfolio, USA


Oregon-made ice cream company, Alden’s Organic, have released three new plant-based frozen dessert products this year. The first is their Dairy-Free Coffee Swirl stick, a sweet coffee plant-based ice cream base with a vanilla swirl. It is an extension of their Summer Drinks line of 2021 which included Horchata and Strawberry Lemonade.

In addition, Alden’s have now also released two new vegan-friendly, dairy-free Ice Cream Bars: Dark Chocolate Vanilla, made with dairy-free vanilla and dipped in super-indulgent dark chocolate; and Dark Chocolate Almond, made with a rich coating of organic dark chocolate and chunks of almonds.

Certified Organic, Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Kosher Pareve, the bars will be available for approximately $6.49 USD (/€5.96) per box of 4 bars at Sprouts and select Natural Grocers stores across the US.



Klimon Debuts New Almond-Based Line at Walmart, USA

Walmart debuts frozen dairy-free dessert brand, Klimon’s Almond-Based Ice Cream pints at select stores across the US, primarily in the East Coast/South/Mid-West for the moment. The price is currently unknown. The brand claims that its special almond-based blend gives it a dairy-like creaminess, so much so that consumers will find it hard to tell the difference between that and traditional dairy ice cream.

Available in 5 flavours:

  • Morning Brew: coffee-flavoured frozen dessert base with real almonds and a fudge swirl.

  • Mint Condition: mint-flavoured frozen dessert base with mini chocolate chips and a fudge swirl.

  • Cherry Bomb: cherry-flavoured frozen dessert base with real Bordeaux cherry chunks and a cherry swirl.

  • Caramel Brûlée: salted caramel-flavoured frozen dessert base with chocolate cookie crumbs and a caramelised sugar swirl.

  • Sunrise Bang: creamy orange-flavoured frozen dessert base with a cream-flavoured swirl.

Baskin Robbins ‘Seizes the Yay’ with New Dairy-Free Flavour, USA


Baskin Robbins are rebranding and marking the occasion with not only a special selection of limited-edition merchandise including clothing and bicycles that have been available since April 18th, but also three new ice cream flavours, one of which is dairy-free.

Non-Dairy Mint Chocochunk’ is the company’s brand-new non-dairy flavour created with a sweet mint flavour, thick chocolate chunks, and a gooey fudge swirl all around a coconut milk base.


Whole Foods Fans Choose New Flavour, USA

Launching mid-April, the new frozen dessert flavour under Whole Foods private label brand, 365, was chosen by their consumers through social media polls created by the retailer. The winning flavour was Birthday Cake Blondie Almondmilk Ice Cream. Containing large bits of Greyston Vegan Birthday Cake Blondies mixed in with colourful sprinkles. The RRP is not yet available.

Trader Joe’s Extends Vegan Ice Cream Range, USA

Another retailer launched a frozen dessert flavour this month and it’s Trader Joe’s with their newest addition to the plant-based ice cream family: Black Tea and Boba Coconut Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert. Bubble tea fanatics will know the rich creaminess and refreshing sensation that comes with each sip and this is something Trader Joe’s have claimed that consumers can experience through their new vegan dessert as well. Featuring a bold-flavoured Assam black tea and a swirl of rich brown sugar, the new pint is available at an RRP of $4.49 USD.

Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pint by NadaMoo, USA

Made with a base of organic coconut milk, NadaMoo’s newest vegan ice cream flavour is Dairy-Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. The brand has blended crumbly cookie dough with chocolate chips and their signature vanilla ice cream to create a decadently delicious vegan dessert.

Available from the brand’s online store for $14.00 USD (or €12.80) per pint and coming in at only 200 calories per serving, the new flavour follows suit in being certified-organic vegan, gluten-free, and GMO-free.

New Tropical Freeze-At-Home Flavours for DeeBee's Organics Fans, USA

DeeBee’s Organics have released a new flavour range to their freeze-at-home line of superfruit freezies. The three new flavours are: Pineapple Coconut, Raspberry Lime, and Peach Passionfruit. Each one is made with 100% fruit juice and added puree and the new tropical juice pops also benefit from no added sugar, artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives.

At only 25 calories per pop, they are available from the brand’s online store for $14.00 USD (or €12.80) per pack of 30. Customers also have the option of purchasing through a subscription model to save 5% on each order, or via their amazon store.



NEW & SURPRISING FLAVOURS / SHAPES

Revolutionary Full-Size Gelato Pies to Launch in 2022

Revolution Gelato have created two brand new full-size gelato pies made with a blend of cashew butter and coconut. The two new gelato pie flavours were available to taste at the recent Expo West show and soon-to-be-available later in the year. The first flavour to be released this Summer is ‘Turtle Gelato Pie’. It is made with a plant-based vanilla gelato in a chocolate cookie crust topped with pecans and topped with a caramel & chocolate drizzle. The second flavour, to launch in the Autumn, is ‘Pumpkin Gelato Pie’, and features plant-based pumpkin gelato in a graham cracker crust.
